Testimonials From Previous Buyers:
Regarding Angus:"Our
experience with Pretty Prairie Kennels and with Rae & Steve Brown was first
rate.
To begin with, they were completely honest and forthright
in their representation of our pup and their knowledge of him. They worked
very closely with us to get Angus shipped to Pennsylvania from Montana in time
for Christmas, in the face of airline red tape, brutally cold temps
in Montana and a snowstorm in the Northeast.
Since receiving our pup we have been enormously pleased with him.
Housebreaking was a breeze. He literally only had two accidents. Our dog is
definitely high energy, but at the same time has a great, even temperament.
He is very affectionate with our family. He is very sociable and even
tempered with other dogs. We get many compliments on both his appearance and
his disposition. He accompanies us on errands around town, to our girls'
sports events, on hikes in the mountains,...you name it.
In the field he has done a great job. While Angus is not aggressive toward
people or other dogs, he is very game driven. He loves to hunt. In his first
year he has done a great job both pointing and retrieving. He has never lost
a bird that has been shot over him.
In short, Angus is developing into an excellent companion gundog. He is super
around the house, great with our daughters and a hardworking, trusted partner
in the field. I am very much looking forward to next hunting season with him,
and hopefully many more to come.Bill and Lisa

Regarding Brier:
"Last spring I purchased my German Shorthair
Pointer pup from Pretty Prairie Kennels near Helena Montana. Both Stephan
and Rae were very straightforward and helpful in my assessment and selection
of a pup. They were clear and honest in their observations and opinions on
the various pups in the litter and paid particular attention to the
qualities I was looking for.
Brier is a bright, energetic and biddable
pup and he is showing a lot of natural talent. his conformation,
endurance, and prey drive are excellent. Stephan and Rae emphasize
socialization and exposure to live birds with their litters and their hard
work certainly shows.
I had no problems with Brier on
housebreaking, basic obedience and exposure to gun fire. He gets along well
with our other dogs and is starting to get the picture on livestock. He is
doing well with whistle commands and visual signals in the field. He does a
pretty good job adjusting his range to cover conditions and checks back
frequently in thick cover. I got him on several coveys of sharptails and
some ringnecks on his first hunt this fall. he located birds well and was
obviously using both air and ground scent with running birds in a huge CRP
field. he pointed, relocated, and pointed again on moving birds; and marked
and retrieved to hand his first sharptail. All in all it was a good season
for such a young pup.
I am very happy with Brier and he is
meeting my expectations. I would unhesitatingly recommend Pretty Prairie
Kennels to anyone looking for a top GSP prospect and a great hunting buddy.

Regarding Lucy & Chloe:
"Hi Rae
The puppies went to the vet today and all is well. Chloe weighed in at 17
pounds and Lucy was 16 - they both gained 5 pounds in the last 3 weeks.
They are loving the warm weather over here, as they spend more time
outside. I am loving it, because they are sleeping in later in the morning.
They have both learned to sit on command and will do it 95% of the time as
long as they aren't distracted.
I have sent some new pictures."
Regarding Jessie:
Hi Rae, got the AKC papers, thanks.
Jessie is doing fine, we should have named her 'turbo', the way she races
around the kitchen, she goes full speed jumps on the wall and tries to grab
the curtains (they end about 28 inches from the floor) we are working on her
not doing that.
She is getting better responding to clicker training (or maybe I'm getting
better at my timing with the clicker). It seems like just in the past week
she has changed -I would say settling down a bit. staying closer to me while
out in the field, before she would take off, be at the end of her lead not
caring if I was there or not, now she runs around comes back to me to check
on me ever so often.
Here are those pictures -- one on her favorite dirt pile and the other --the
two sleeping while watching t.v.
